Mindessence Zen Center is one of the Vietnamese-American's Zen Buddhist meditation and training center. The center's purpose is to embody the wisdom and compassion of the Buddha as expressed in the Vietnamese Zen tradition established by King Tran Nhan Tong in the thirteenth century and conveyed to us by the Most Venerable Thich Thanh Tu.
Mindessence Zen Center was founded early in 2001 to provide a warm and peaceful place to study and practice Zen Buddhism. Its primary activities include sitting in meditation, studying Buddhist teachings, and discovering the meaning of Zen practice in everyday life. Beside these activities, there are periods of silent working meditation in which participants might, for example, help in the kitchen, work in the gardens, or clean up around the center.
At Mindessence Zen Center, we welcome all who are interested in the practice of meditation and the study of Buddhism, regardless of their religious background, ethnic origin, gender, age or practice experience.
